When the Spaniards came to the Visayas in 1668, they found heavily tattooed men and women inhabiting the island. These they called the Pintados.
The pintados were discovered to have a culture of their own and were said to hold festivals to celebrate victory in war, to honor their deity for a bountiful harvest and for other occasions.
Eighteen years ago, the Foundation revived the festival in honor of our deity - our Patron Seņor Sto. Niņo.
Today, we are given the chance to relive history and honor our deity, El Seņor Santo Niņo through the Pintados Festival.
